This past Wednesday, legendary adman Richard Kirshenbaum hosted a launch party for his latest book “Isn’t That Rich? Life Among the 1%” at The Lotos Club, the historic literary club on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. A self-proclaimed sociologist of Manhattan’s wealthy, Kirshenbaum gathered together the privileged subjects of his numerous New York Observer columns for the evening’s festivities.
The elegant crowd marveled at the French Renaissance architecture as it gobbled spoonfuls of premium Pointy Snout Caviar, slow-sipped Blackwell Black Gold Special Reserve Rum (owned by rock music icon Chris Blackwell, who was in attendance), and downed shots of Russian Standard vodka.
In the background, a giant “1%” ice sculpture melted while torch singer Vanessa Trouble crooned her dulcet melodies.
